Home Base

The command center for serious service shops. Free to self-host, or $37 a month if you'd rather we host it.

Pricing

Free to self-host. $37 a month if you'd rather we host it.

Home Base is source-available and free forever if you want to run it on your own server. If you'd rather skip the setup and have someone on the hook when the printer won't print a work order, we'll host it for you for a flat monthly price.

$0

to self-host forever

01

The source is on GitHub. Take it, run it on your own server, and the software never costs you a dollar.

$37

a month hosted

02

One flat price on our infrastructure. Not per seat, not per bay, not per work order.

Source

available on GitHub

03

Every line of code that runs your shop is something you or a technical friend can read, fork, or audit.

Zero

lock-in by design

04

Cancel any month and walk out with a full copy of your database. Leaving is a button, not a support ticket.

Starting paths

Two ways to run it, one price on the hosted side

Self-hosting is free and always will be. Hosting is flat and predictable. Fleet operators have a third door when one hosted instance is not enough.

Self-hosted

Free forever

Pull the source, run it on your own server, and own the whole operation. No feature limits. No user caps. No call-us-for-pricing.

Best fit

Strong for shops with a technical person, or a technical friend, who would rather own the stack.

  • Full source on GitHub at fruitmob/home-base
  • Runs on any server that can host Postgres
  • Every module included: sales, work orders, portal, Lens, Gauge, reporting
  • Community support through GitHub issues

Best when the shop wants control more than it wants someone on the phone.

Hosted

$37 a month

The same Home Base, running on our infrastructure. One flat price. No per-seat tier, no per-bay surcharge, no consulting-engagement intro period before the software shows up.

Best fit

Strong for shops that would rather spend their time on cars than on servers.

  • We host, back up, monitor, and patch it
  • Email support with real response times
  • Automatic updates to new releases
  • Cancel any month and your data exports back to you

Best when the shop wants support and a predictable bill instead of a server to manage.

Fleet

Multi-shop custom

Running more than one location? We will figure out the right shape together: hosted or self-hosted, per-shop data or a shared customer graph, with migration help included.

Best fit

Strong for operators running two or more locations who want one system across the group.

  • Hosted or self-hosted, whichever fits the operation
  • Per-shop isolation or shared customer history, your call
  • Dedicated onboarding and migration help
  • Direct line to the people building it

Best when one hosted instance is not enough.

No lock-in

No shop should be held hostage by its software. Self-host it for nothing or host it with us for $37 a month.

Cancel any month and walk out with the whole database. The source is on GitHub, so the worst case is that you keep running the copy already on your server.

01

What every plan includes

There are no feature gates between self-hosted and hosted. The software is the software.

  • 1Every module: sales, work orders, customer portal, Lens video, Gauge assistance, reporting
  • 2Full access to the underlying Postgres database in the shape you would expect
  • 3Source code on GitHub you can read, fork, or audit
  • 4No upsell path that turns on important features after you have already committed
02

What hosted adds on top

You pay $37 a month for the parts you would otherwise be responsible for yourself.

  • 1Managed Postgres, daily backups, and monitoring
  • 2Domain, SSL, and outbound email handled for you
  • 3Email support with real response times during shop hours
  • 4Automatic updates so the software keeps moving forward without a maintenance window

Pricing FAQ

Questions pricing should answer directly

A good pricing page lowers uncertainty without pushing buyers into a fake plan just to look complete.

1Why free to self-host? Does that not cannibalize the hosted plan?
+

Some of it, yes. But most shops who try self-hosting decide their time is worth more than $37 a month and switch to hosted within a few months anyway. The shops who keep self-hosting help the software get better by filing issues and sometimes fixing them. That trade feels honest.

2Why source-available instead of a normal closed SaaS?
+

Two reasons. First, no shop should be held hostage by its software. If we stop shipping, you can keep running what is already on your server indefinitely. Second, a shop owner who wants to see how approvals actually work can read the code, and that beats any trust-us marketing page.

3What happens to my data if I cancel the hosted plan?
+

You get a full export of your database and any uploaded files. You can bring it up on your own server the next day, hand it to another shop tool, or keep the export as a safety copy.

4Will the $37 price go up?
+

For new shops over time, probably. For shops already on the plan, no. If you sign up at $37 you stay at $37 as long as you keep the account active.
